Beginning in 1990, Colombia's economic policies undergo a radical change. The Cepaline school of thought based on import substitution and protection of domestic industry is replaced by one of international trade, opening Colombia’s doors to free trade and global competition.

The Grasco Group is not caught off guard by this change. On the contrary, its vertical industrial integration from raw materials and packaging to finished products and distribution; modern, highly productive and strategically located industrial centers; import and export infrastructure; private storage; port facilities and immediate access to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans define the Grasco Group as a new reliable alternative to international markets.
